LARA'S STATEWIDE CAMPAIGN LANDS NEW, POTENT ENDORSEMENT

Former State Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez Joins Far-Reaching Coalition Backing Senator Ricardo Lara for State Insurance Commissioner

LONG BEACH, CA -- Continuing to secure crucial support for his statewide campaign, today State Senator Ricardo Lara received a heavy-duty endorsement from California's former State Assembly Speaker, Fabian Nunez.

Nunez, considered one of the state's most respected and influential former legislative leaders, announced his backing of Lara's statewide bid by remarking:

"Ricardo Lara is the manifestation of the California Dream. The son of immigrants, he's grappled with many of the same life challenges that so many Californians face on a regular basis. Now, as a leader at the state level, he's dedicated his career to giving back and improving the lives of others, bringing compassion, inclusivity and a progressive approach to everything he does. Ricardo is by far the best choice for State Insurance Commissioner and I'm pleased to give him my strong, wholehearted support."

Today's announcement follows the release of the Senator's new digital video ad, titled, "Embolden," which takes aim at Donald Trump's backwards agenda and the President's comments saying that "California is out of control," by illustrating the sharp contrast between the Oval Office's agenda and that of Lara's.
